ShowSize is a powerful disk space utility that makes it possible to find large, space-hogging folders and files on local or network disk volumes. ShowSize delivers The Power that demanding users need to get a clear picture of Disk Space Usage on their hard drives. As a result they can find out what folders, file types and files are consuming the most disk space. The users can then examine these in further detail by going deeper into ShowSize reports that display the disk space related data in a hierarchical tree list. The end result is that the users are in a better position to identify and remove unwanted folders and files to get more disk space for the new and useful stuff.
Advanced users such as network administrators can take advantage of this information to monitor the disk space consumed by various users in their organization, and can produce helpful reports that avoid system bloat and inform these users about the Details of their disk space usage.
Highlights of ShowSize 5
Officially supports Vista:
* Detects and suggests running as administrator when required for advanced usage.
* Contains utilities to install menus in Explorer with proper Vista permission prompts.
* Unused Files report discontinued! A major Windows Vista related change is that we have discontinued Unused Files report and Used Date column for the reasons mentioned in the help Topic "Report discontinued." The report appears on earlier Windows systems but with a severe warning because the report can still be useless for volumes shared with Windows Vista computers.
New, redesigned scanning, reporting and filtering engine:
* New design ensures that we can easily add new reports in future based on your suggestions.
* Elimination of System and Hidden items now does not require a rescan but just a change in the filters.
* Symbolic link skipping is now supported (but not in ShowSize PE).
